In an unfortunate incident, Atif Siddiqui, a Class 9 student at City Montessori School’s Aliganj campus, tragically passed away on Wednesday. Atif collapsed during his chemistry class, and doctors suspect it was due to cardiac arrest.
Initially, he was taken to a nearby medical facility, and subsequently, he was referred to KGMU’s cardiology department. Regrettably, KGMU doctors declared him brought dead, and his body was later sent for postmortem examination.
During the incident, Chemistry teacher Nadeem Khan was conducting the class, and students raised an alarm when Atif fainted. Mr. Khan made immediate efforts to assist Atif, including CPR, but unfortunately, Atif did not respond. The school nurse was called, and Atif was transported to a nearby private hospital, from where he was referred to KGMU.
CMS spokesperson Rishi Khanna expressed deep sorrow, stating, “It is an extremely unfortunate and tragic incident that has pushed all of us into great grief and shock. Atif was rushed to a nearby medical facility by his teacher and the school nurse in a car. By then, the child’s father had also been informed, and he also reached the medical facility.”
