New Animated Series ‘Bharat Hain Hum’ Shines Light on Unsung Heroes of India’s Freedom Struggle .

In a commendable initiative to illuminate the lesser-known chapters of India’s freedom struggle, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Anurag Thakur, unveiled the trailer of an upcoming animated series titled ‘Bharat Hain Hum.’ This series is set to shine a spotlight on the unsung heroes who contributed significantly to India’s journey to independence.

The “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav,” a visionary concept by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was designed to pay homage to the unsung heroes and individuals who played a pivotal role in the nation’s freedom struggle. Anurag Thakur, while speaking at the unveiling of the trailer, expressed that the series is a humble endeavor to rekindle the nation’s memory and gratitude towards these often-overlooked heroes, deserving of unwavering admiration and respect.

Thakur highlighted the prevailing gap in conventional education systems, where many schools often teach selectively about individuals and their roles in the freedom struggle, leaving a void in public awareness about many other remarkable freedom fighters. He underlined the significance of ‘Bharat Hain Hum’ as a means to address this gap and provide an informative platform that transcends linguistic barriers.

“This is a beautiful animation series that will provide information about India. Efforts have been made to ensure that language isn’t a barrier. A unique effort has been made to produce the series in 12 Indian languages and seven international languages, so that not only our nation but the world can learn about our unsung heroes,” he added.

An important aspect of the series is its focus on gender inclusivity, as Thakur noted, with nearly 30% of the characters being women. He emphasized that this reflects the government’s commitment to gender equality and women’s active role in the struggle for independence.

Munjal Shroff and Tilak Shetty, the co-creators of ‘Bharat Hain Hum,’ also shared their thoughts at the event, expressing their desire to revive tales of patriotism and the pursuit of freedom. Their goal is to pay tribute to the extraordinary sacrifices made by these unsung heroes and, in the process, inspire the children and youth of India to take pride in their cultural heritage.

“Animation is the perfect medium to bring alive these glorious tales and make them accessible to the children of our country. Our history often remains confined to the pages of school textbooks, and a knowledge gap exists beyond secondary education. This entertaining and informative series is aimed at every Indian, irrespective of age,” the creators affirmed.

The first season of ‘Bharat Hain Hum’ is scheduled to premiere on October 15, consisting of 26 episodes. This remarkable animated series promises to bridge the gap in historical education, offering an engaging and informative experience that will captivate audiences of all ages.
