Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ONGC’s Sea Survival Centre in Goa on Tuesday, marking a significant advancement in India’s sea survival training ecosystem. The centre, envisioned as a one-of-a-kind Integrated Sea Survival Training Centre, aims to elevate training standards to global benchmarks.

Expected to train 10,000-15,000 personnel annually, the centre will provide rigorous training in simulated and controlled harsh weather conditions. It is designed to equip trainees with the necessary skills to effectively handle real-life disasters and enhance their sea survival abilities.

In addition to inaugurating the Sea Survival Centre, PM Modi’s visit to Goa includes participation in various significant events aimed at promoting India’s energy sector and overall development.

PM Modi will inaugurate India Energy Week 2024, scheduled from February 6-9, aimed at fostering collaboration between stakeholders in the energy sector. The event will witness the participation of global oil and gas CEOs, experts, and 35,000 attendees, along with over 900 exhibitors.

The conference will feature six dedicated country pavilions and highlight India’s transition towards renewable energy sources, aligning with the government’s goal of achieving self-reliance in energy.

Furthermore, PM Modi will partake in the Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047 programme, emphasizing sustainable development initiatives. He will inaugurate the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology Goa, equipped with modern facilities to cater to the needs of students, faculty, and staff.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will dedicate the new campus of the National Institute of Watersports and lay the foundation stone for various infrastructure projects, including a Passenger Ropeway connecting Panaji and Reis Magos, and a 100 MLD water treatment plant in South Goa.

PM Modi’s visit underscores the government’s commitment to fostering innovation, promoting sustainable development, and advancing India’s energy goals.
