Over the past three days, the state capital has witnessed a worrying surge in the number of reported dengue cases, which has raised significant concerns among healthcare professionals and local authorities. The situation has escalated from 34 cases on Friday, 35 cases on Saturday, and reached a total of 36 cases on Sunday.
On Sunday, the distribution of dengue cases within the city was as follows:
- Four cases each were reported from Chinhut and Aliganj.
- Five cases were reported from Indira Nagar.
- Three cases each were reported from Sarojininagar and Chander Nagar.
Local healthcare experts are deeply concerned about this sudden spike in dengue cases and emphasize the importance of preventive measures for the residents of the city. Dr. Amita Shukla, a senior gynecologist from SC Trivedi Memorial Trust Hospital, commented, “The city is currently experiencing a peak in dengue cases, and it is crucial for vulnerable populations, such as pregnant women, the elderly, and children, to take proactive steps to protect themselves from mosquito bites.”
Dr. Shukla recommended the use of mosquito nets during sleep as an effective preventive measure. She emphasized that using mosquito nets can significantly reduce the risk of being bitten by infected mosquitoes, helping to curb the spread of the disease.
Local authorities are also intensifying their efforts to combat the outbreak and raise awareness about dengue prevention. They are urging citizens to take precautions, including keeping their surroundings clean to eliminate breeding grounds for mosquitoes and using mosquito repellents.
The increasing dengue cases in the state capital underscore the need for collective vigilance and responsible action by the community. Citizens are encouraged to stay informed about dengue prevention measures and seek medical attention if they experience dengue-like symptoms.
