In a significant move towards ensuring the accessibility of essential commodities to every household, the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NACOF) has embarked on the mission to distribute government-produced salt and tea across the nation. This initiative comes as part of the Indian government’s commitment to supporting local farmers and promoting domestically manufactured goods.
Under the guidance of NACOF, in collaboration with Kaizen Agro InfraBuild Limited and Pioneer Agri Marketing Private Limited, a comprehensive marketing strategy has been devised for the sale of salt and tea manufactured by government enterprises, particularly in Uttar Pradesh.
During a press event held on Saturday at the Gemini Continental Hotel in Lucknow, Mr. Ram Ikbal Singh, the founder and executive chairman of NACOF, announced the commencement of sales for these essential products.
Present at the occasion were NACOF directors Ashok Kumar Singh and Rajiv Kumar Singh, along with Deputy Director Prakash Srivastava. Highlighting the medicinal qualities of the government’s salt, Alok Srivastava of Hindustan Salts explained that the sale of Sambhar salt, which is rich in 84 rare minerals and naturally iodized, aims to promote health and well-being.
Notably, the company’s salt is anti-carcinogenic and enhances neural function. Hindustan Salts Limited produces Sambhar salt, which meets all of the Indian government’s standards, with a pH level between 9.00 and 9.50, and contains various minerals such as sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, sulphate, and natural iodine.
Meanwhile, Debjit Nag of Andrew Yule Company, a Government of India Enterprise, highlighted the government’s initiative to introduce a wide range of delicious teas in Uttar Pradesh. One of the most exquisite teas is the Golden Assam CTC, known for its aroma and flavor, produced by Andrew Yule, one of Kolkata’s premier tea manufacturers.
