In a shocking and deeply distressing incident that transpired during the late hours of Thursday, September 21, a 23-year-old female student identified as Nishta Tripathi, pursuing her B.Com (Honours) degree at BBD University, met with a tragic and untimely demise due to a gunshot wound. The incident unfolded at Dayal Residency, situated in the Chinhat area of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
According to the preliminary report by the local police, Ms. Nishta Tripathi had visited Dayal Residency in response to an invitation from her friend, Aaditya Pathak, at the time of the incident. The gathering was characterized as a late-night party hosted within the confines of the apartment.
During their investigation, the police discovered evidence of alcohol consumption within the flat. Law enforcement agencies are actively exploring whether the gunshot wound resulted from an accidental discharge or if it was part of a deliberate and sinister plot.
Disturbingly, it has also come to light that several other students were present at the late-night gathering when this unfortunate incident occurred. Upon sustaining the gunshot injury, Nishta Tripathi was immediately rushed to Lohia Hospital. Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, tragically, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
In light of the circumstances, the main suspect, Aaditya Pathak, has been taken into police custody, and a case has been registered under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) concerning murder. The police are actively questioning all individuals who were present at the party, seeking to gather crucial information and evidence pertaining to this heart-wrenching incident.
Speaking on the matter, ADCP East, Lucknow, Syed Ali Abbas, stated, “We received information from Lohia Hospital at approximately 3:30 AM regarding the unfortunate demise of a young woman named Nishta Tripathi due to a gunshot wound. Our investigation revealed that the incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Chinhat Police Station. We have informed her family, and the prime suspect, Aditya Pathak, has been apprehended. We assure the public that swift and decisive action will be taken against anyone found responsible. Our investigation is in full swing, and we are diligently questioning all those who were present at the party.”
