Uttar Pradesh CM for skill-based studies in higher classes

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath convened a meeting with the vice-chancellors of four universities in Gorakhpur on Monday evening. During the session, he provided guidance and stressed the need to introduce skill-based curricula in higher education institutions. Emphasizing the pivotal role of universities in contributing to social, cultural, and economic development, the Chief Minister also urged them to play a crucial part in fortifying the healthcare system in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

Participating in the meeting were Vice-Chancellor Prof Poonam Tandon from Deen Dayal Upadhyay (DDU Gorakhpur University), VC JP Saini from Madan Mohan Malviya Technical University, VC Dr Atul Bajpai from Guru Gorakshnath Vishwavidyalaya, and VC Dr AK Singh from Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath AYUSH University.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath encouraged the vice-chancellors to share their expertise with each other, considering their specialization in different fields. He emphasized that a skill-based education system would significantly enhance the employability of the youth, aligning them with emerging job opportunities driven by advanced technology.

Yogi Adityanath urged the academic leaders to foster innovation in research and shift the focus towards connecting students with technology, steering away from traditional classroom-centric learning. Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister commenced the day by performing ‘Rudrabhishek’ at the Gorakhnath temple, offering prayers for the well-being of the people. Subsequently, he participated in ‘gauseva’ at the temple’s cowshed and conducted a ‘Janata Darshan’ session at Mahant Digvijaynath Smriti Bhawan Auditorium in the Gorakhnath temple complex.
