The demonstrations come as a reaction to the heinous crime that has sent shockwaves across the region.

On Wednesday, in Moirangkhom, located approximately 200 meters away from the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, security forces resorted to firing tear gas shells to disperse a gathering that had gathered to voice their anger and demands. Unfortunately, this action resulted in injuries to several students who were part of the demonstration.
Student leader Lanthengba, who led the rally, spoke to the media, stating, “We demand the immediate arrest of the culprits responsible for the murders of both students within 24 hours, and we urge that their bodies be retrieved for the last rites. We also seek a meeting with the Chief Minister to address our grievances. How can we continue our studies when our friends and fellow students are being brutally murdered?”
The protests reflect the collective anguish and frustration of the student community in Manipur and have drawn attention to the pressing need for swift action to bring the perpetrators of such heinous crimes to justice. The students are resolute in their pursuit of justice and have vowed to continue their peaceful protests until their demands are met.
