Tragic Death Prompts Closure and License Suspension of Mainpuri Hospital .

In a tragic incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, a 17-year-old girl, Bharti, suffering from a high fever, passed away after allegedly receiving inadequate care at Radha Swami Hospital in Mainpuri’s Ghiror town. The heart-wrenching incident unfolded when hospital staff purportedly dumped her outside the facility, leading to her collapse.

Bharti was admitted to Radha Swami Hospital on Tuesday, battling a high fever. As her condition deteriorated on Thursday, hospital staff, according to the family’s allegations, decided to transport her outside the hospital premises instead of providing the necessary medical care. Minutes later, Bharti tragically lost her life.

The incident came to the attention of health authorities, and Deputy Chief Medical Officer RC Gupta initiated an immediate inquiry. The preliminary investigation prompted the sealing of Radha Swami Hospital and the suspension of its license. A two-member committee has been formed to delve deeper into the allegations and provide a comprehensive report in the shortest possible time.

Before the hospital’s closure, a patient admitted to the facility was transferred to the Ghiror community health center. Notices have been issued to all hospital authorities, including doctors and staff, requiring them to cooperate fully with the inquiry team by presenting their documents. It’s important to note that the hospital’s license had been renewed in May.

The inquiry will also scrutinize the treatment provided to Bharti during her stay at the hospital. Additionally, health department officials are considering a visit to Bharti’s home to gather further information about the matter.

Bharti, a resident of Oye village under the Ghiror police station circle in Mainpuri district, leaves behind her grieving parents, a brother, and a sister. A video circulating on social media shows the tragic aftermath of the incident, with Bharti seemingly lifeless on a motorcycle seat as a woman accompanying her cries in distress.

Bharti’s cousin, Praveen Yadav, disclosed that Bharti was initially taken to the hospital on Tuesday due to her high fever. Her condition allegedly worsened after she was administered an injection, leading doctors to refer her to another hospital. Tragically, before arrangements could be made to transfer her, hospital staff reportedly placed her on her father’s motorcycle, where she eventually succumbed to her illness. Instead of assisting in her transfer, the staff left the scene, as claimed by the girl’s family.

Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, responsible for the state’s health department, swiftly took action upon learning of the incident. On social media, Pathak conveyed his immediate instructions to the Chief Medical Officer for “strict action” against the private hospital.

In a statement, Deputy Chief Minister Pathak said, “Such incidents will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Strictest action will be taken against the culprits.”

This tragic incident follows recent action taken against another medical facility, Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Amethi, after a patient’s death due to alleged negligence.
