In a remarkable display of appreciation, the Uttar Pradesh chapter of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has initiated the “Dhanyawad Modi” campaign, set to commence across the state after October 15, 2023. This campaign is aimed at galvanizing the Muslim women community of Uttar Pradesh to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his progressive initiatives, such as the Women’s Reservation Act and the outlawing of triple talaq, an instant divorce practice.
Under the leadership of Uttar Pradesh BJP General Secretary (Organization), Dharampal Singh, the “Dhanyawad Modi” campaign seeks to foster a sense of appreciation among the Muslim women of the state. Over a lakh Muslim women from Uttar Pradesh are expected to participate in this campaign, expressing their gratitude to the Prime Minister for his efforts to empower women and promote gender equality.
The Women’s Reservation Act, which ensures 33% reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies, stands as a testament to the government’s commitment to women’s empowerment. Additionally, the prohibition of triple talaq, a practice that had long subjected women to injustice, reflects the government’s dedication to ensuring the welfare and rights of Muslim women.
The “Dhanyawad Modi” campaign will kick off from Meerut, coinciding with another significant initiative by the BJP’s minority wing – the “NaMo Mitra (friends of PM Modi)” meets, which are expected to commence from Saharanpur. These initiatives collectively reflect the BJP’s continuous efforts to engage with diverse communities and promote unity and inclusivity.
Uttar Pradesh BJP General Secretary (Organization), Dharampal Singh, has further instructed that the “Dhanyawad Modi” campaign proposal be passed in all urban local bodies and panchayats where the BJP enjoys a majority. This demonstrates the party’s commitment to ensuring that the message of gratitude reaches every corner of the state.
As part of the campaign preparations, Singh is currently touring the state to oversee the organization of six women’s meets that the BJP plans to hold across Uttar Pradesh. These meetings aim to highlight the achievements of the government in empowering women and creating opportunities for them to participate actively in politics and decision-making processes.
Uttar Pradesh BJP Chief, Bhupendra Chaudhary, has also been actively touring the state to keep the party machinery in a “ready and activated” position, underlining the BJP’s commitment to effective outreach and community engagement.
The “Dhanyawad Modi” campaign represents an earnest expression of gratitude from the Muslim women of Uttar Pradesh towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership and commitment to gender equality.
