In a proactive effort to enhance law and order in the state, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath engaged in a comprehensive interaction on Monday with approximately 2,700 Uttar Pradesh Police personnel. This inclusive session included officers serving as Station House Officers (SHOs) in 1,535 police stations throughout the state. The gathering aimed to evaluate their performance, guided by the rankings of zones and regions determined by the State Home Department.
A notable highlight of this initiative is Chief Minister Adityanath’s firm stance on promoting women’s participation in law enforcement. He emphasized the appointment of women police officers to lead a minimum of one police station in every district, in addition to the existing women police stations. This directive underscores the commitment to women’s empowerment and gender inclusivity within the police force.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Adityanath announced a significant step forward in the government’s ‘Mission Shakti.’ Starting this October, the state will appoint “Shakti Didi” to empower women at the grassroots level. During the upcoming Navratri festival, as part of the next phase of Mission Shakti, two women police personnel, along with ASHA workers, ANMs, Anganwadi workers, and others, will engage with women in gram panchayats to raise awareness about their rights and government schemes.
These initiatives reflect the state government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring safety and empowerment for all residents of Uttar Pradesh. By promoting gender equality within the police force and empowering women at the grassroots level, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visionary leadership aims to create a safer and more inclusive society for the people of the state.
