Yogi govt distributes 1.80 lakh blankets to the needy in the last 10 days

To ensure that no one in the state suffers as a result of the cold wave, the Uttar Pradesh government, following instructions from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has distributed more than 1,79,740 blankets to he needy in the last 10 days.

The Chief Minister personally visited the night shelters on January 8 during his visit to Kashi and gave out food and blankets to those in need. Even in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister personally distributed blankets and food.

A total of 4,66,201 blankets have been delivered to the needy so far in this cold wave by the government. The blanket distribution programme is still being carried out by the people’s representatives in all 75 districts of the state.

More than 4.66 lakh blankets distributed so far

The government has provided a total of 4,66,201 blankets to the poor and needy as of January 10, against 2,86,740 till January 1, implying that in just ten days, 1,79,740 blankets were distributed.

21926 blankets distributed in Lakhimpur, 16629 in Hardoi, 12640 in Bareilly, 12546 in Banda & 11989 in Maharajganj

The blankets were provided by the government in a short period of time—10 days—due to the cold. The procedure of blanket distribution was completed relatively faster in each district, whether it was Lakhimpur, Banda, Maharajganj, or Unnao.

So far in this cold wave, 21926 blankets have been distributed in Lakhimpur Kheri, 16629 in Hardoi, 12640 in Bareilly, 12546 in Banda, 12050 in Bulandshahr, 11414 in Deoria, 11989 in Maharajganj, 11600 in Ghazipur, 11570 in Prayagraj, 10395 in Ballia, 10288 in Rae Bareli, 10265 in Unnao, 10123 in Firozabad, 9990 in Lucknow, 9450 in Sitapur, and 9437 in Shravasti.
