Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UP Board) is witnessing a noticeable decline in student registrations for the upcoming 2024 state board high school (Class 10) and intermediate (Class 12) examinations. According to officials, a total of 55,08,206 students have successfully completed the registration process, which is significantly lower than the 58,84,634 students registered in the previous year, 2023.
The board had provided schools with an extended registration period, concluding on October 10th, allowing students from classes 9 to 12 to complete their online registration.
UP Board officials assert that one of the primary reasons for this decline is the stringent examination and anti-cheating measures implemented over the past few years. These measures have effectively deterred candidates who may have previously resorted to dishonest means to pass their exams from registering themselves.
This year, a total of 52,83,757 students from classes 9 and 11 have adhered to the advanced registration norms set by the UP Board. This number is higher than the 51,92,616 students who registered for the board examinations in 2022, comprising 27,81,645 students for the high school examination and 24,10,971 students for the intermediate examination.
In preparation for the 2024 examinations, the UP Board is actively engaged in determining the examination centers. Officials state that the board has intensified its preparations for the next edition of these crucial examinations.
