Living up to its stellar reputation, the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIM-L) has once again demonstrated its commitment to excellence by achieving 100% placement for its students during the recently conducted summer placement drive on campus.
The summer placement drive, a testament to the institute’s dedication towards nurturing the future leaders of the business world, witnessed 555 students receiving a total of 576 job offers. This remarkable achievement reaffirms IIM-L’s position as a premier educational institution that consistently delivers quality talent to the corporate world. It is noteworthy that this year’s figures closely mirror the success of the previous placement season, where 566 students secured 570 offers.
The placement drive showcased the unwavering trust that top companies place in IIM-L graduates. The highest package offered during the placement season stood at Rs 42 lakh per annum, maintaining parity with the previous year. The average package offered was Rs 15.7 lakh per annum, showcasing a marginal dip of Rs 4 lakh compared to the previous year.
Impressively, approximately 50% of students received annual packages of Rs 21.2 lakh, while nearly 10% of students secured offers with an annual package of Rs 27 lakh. These remarkable achievements underline the quality of education and training imparted at IIM-L, positioning its graduates as highly sought-after professionals in the job market.
Consulting firms, including Accenture, Boston Consulting Group (BCG), and Bain & Company, emerged as the top recruiters during the placement season. Accenture led the way with the highest number of offers, extending a total of 33 opportunities to IIM-L students. BCG closely followed with 14 offers, securing its place as the second top recruiter on campus. Bain & Company, with 10 offers, further exemplified the prominence of consulting firms in IIM-L’s placement landscape, accounting for a significant 32% of the total placements.
Remarkably, despite the prevailing economic challenges, more than 200 recruiters actively participated in the placement process, making it one of the most successful placement seasons to date, as stated in the communique. Prof Priyanka Sharma, the Placement Chairperson at IIM-L, shared her insights on this accomplishment, stating, “Despite the tough placement scenario this time around, our relentless teamwork ensured that each student gets at least one offer and achieves 100% campus summer placement.”
The successful summer placement drive was conducted for the 39th batch of the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management and the 20th batch of PGP in Food and Agri-Business Management, further reflecting IIM-L’s commitment to nurturing talent across diverse domains.
